I love the start of any new season. It’s a chance to revamp your whole wardrobe, get rid of the clutter and remember all the great pieces you stashed away over the summer. Swap out the Aperol Spritz for a warming glass of red because Autumn’s here! From chunky knits to the best boots, we’ve done the hard work for you and pulled together this season’s biggest trends. So, whether you’re feeling flush or thrifty, The Posh Rock has got you covered.
1. Sock Ankle boots
At the start of September, I always have to buy a new pair of boots, (my ‘back to school’ treat if you will). And the sock trend has answered all my prayers this season. A sleek boot that you can pull on at a moment’s notice, pair it with wide leg culottes for a sports luxe vibe, or with a wool or pleated skirt.
Designer: Christian Louboutin – Dovi Dova 100 studded leather-trimmed stretch-knit sock boots (£815)
Highstreet: Mango – Heel sock boots (£49)
2. Pleated skirt
Talking of pleated skirts, we’re loving the heavy, structured quality of this metallic number from Gucci. Tuck in a plain tee or an oversized jumper, and top off the look with trainers or a pair of heels. For a lighter feel with more movement, try this ASOS lookalike.
3. Chunky Knitwear
I L O V E chunky knits this time of year; there is just something so cosy about getting all wrapped up! You’ll be spoilt for choice on the high street this season with lots of great options around. Or, for something a little more luxurious, try out these favourites from Acne and Alexander McQueen. Red is our colour of choice and so this season.
Designer: McQ Alexander McQueen – Red chunky-knit wool blend jumper (£390), Acne Studios – Disa oversized ribbed wool turtleneck sweater (£360)
Highstreet: Zara – Oversized Cable-Knit Sweater (£39.99), Zara – Oversized Roll Neck Sweater (£39.99)
4. Leather Jacket
A good leather jacket can last a lifetime so it’s a wardrobe staple worth investing in! Balenciaga have dreamt up a twist on the classic biker shape this season, with its Pink-Ladies-vibe neck tie. If you’re in the market for something a little more classic, try this Jane Norman piece.
5. Tote Bag
This season saw Burberry bring back its classic check in force, after a long hiatus. This classic tote keeps it classy with just a flash of pattern to remind everyone exactly where it’s from.
Whatever the season, a pair of black pumps will get you places – office meetings, post-work drinks, weddings, funerals… the lot! This season, we’ve seen pearl detailing come into its own – offering a twist on the much-loved classic.
Okay, so we know that there’s luxury, and there’s luxury, but we couldn’t resist including this Chanel coat because it is oh-so gorgeous. (Luckily, there is an alternative at high street savior, Zara…)
